st1\:*{behavior:url(#ieooui) } Recently, the health of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) former Premier, Li Peng, appeared to have taken a turn for the worse.

According to a German media in Beijing, Li Peng did not attend the Olympics Opening Ceremony. Subsequently, on the thirty first of August, Li and Zeng Qinghong were again not seen at Hua Guofeng’s memorial ceremony, which attracted attention from foreign media. Rumours have it that since he suffered a stroke at the beginning of this year, Li has been seriously ill and hospitalized at an executive ward at Beijing’s 301 Hospital.

It was also reported that according to a German TV journalist, the Minister of Propaganda has already drafted an obituary for Li Peng. Next year will be the twentieth anniversary of the nineteen eighty nine Tiananmen Square massacre. In order to avoid public reminiscence of history due to Li’s sickness, the obituary shunned many sensitive incidents.
