In a recent interview with the parents of victims in the Sanlu toxic milk scandal. It was revealed that the government has been neglecting its promises of free treatment. Up until now, the San Lu Group and relevant government departments have been avoiding responsibility, and have told inquiring parents to wait. Some parents have felt helpless towards hospitals that have rejected affected young children from treatment.
It’s been reported that there are less people purchasing domestic milk formulas, although many shops are still promoting the milk vigorously, victims have not been easily deceived.
Mr. Zhang of Gansu Province said that his babe suffered kidney stones in both kidneys. Their babe was refused admission to the hospital for treatment, as the doctors feared they could not successfully treat the baby.
Another concerned parent in Gansu, Mr. Zhu said the toxic milk scandal has caused harm and damage to the health of many babes and young children, while medical examination costs and treatments are still being paid by parents. He claims that the government has not fulfilled its previous promises and many family members of victims believe they will not be compensated for the damage caused.
