Xingjiang officials to step up “fight against opposition forces”

Chinese media has reported that officials of the Urumchi region in Xingjiang has held a meeting with relevant departments on Tuesday, seeking to increase the intensity of the fight against “opposition forces”.
The report said that the meeting reinforced “strengthening antagonistic attacks, maintaining the high pressure stance of crackdowns, resisting the infiltration of rebellious thoughts within the region, and further reduced the space for opposition forces to live and move”.

Throughout the first half of this year and also during the Beijing Olympics, a number of violent riots erupted at the Uygur Autonomous region China’s north-western Xingjian province.

The Chinese Communist Party Bureau of Public Security issued a warrant for 8 members of the East Turkistan Terror Group. The communist regime claims that the East Turkestan Islamic Movement (ETIM) is a terrorist organisation.

However, some Uygur communities have blamed the Chinese communist regime for its high pressure policy carried out in Xinjiang, which they say is the main cause of the situation intensifying in the region.
