Lawyers call for government to bare some blame for recent police killings
With the recent trial of Jia Yang for the killing of six police officers, and his subsequent death sentence, there does not seem to be any lessoning of his status as a local people’s hero. Since the murders, thousands upon thousands of ordinary Chinese citizens have been holding Jia as a hero and even many lawyers are calling for the government to recognise that they have blame to bear in this tragedy.
Recently Ai Weiwei, Mao Yushi and many other scholars have jointly called on the highest authorities of the Chinese Communist Government to bestow pardon to Jia and follow a similar act made by an official during the Qing dynasty in Chinese history. Beijing lawyer Tang Jitian told reporters that the state is in a system where because of the theory of total dictatorship set for the by the communist regime, the thinking and actions of armed forces and police is quite often not much better than criminals.
For this reason the people are treated terribly and the police become even more brutal without restraint. In effect this is how they are shown and told to be to be able to enforce such a theory of dictatorship.
The entire judicial process is being questioned now and it seems the society of China is getting behind Jia Yang to have him pardoned and instead hold the CCP as major blame for such an incident occurring.
